Break In Your New Propane Heater
Several commenters recommend running your new propane heater outside for as long as a full propane cylinder before bringing it inside to heat a tent or a small room.
The reason is that some new propane heaters emit an unpleasant odor during the break in period that magically disappears about 3/4 way through the propane cylinder. People tend to associate unpleasant odors with toxicity. There is no evidence that the fumes are toxic but just being unpleasant is enough of a reason to burn them off.
